The Chaikin A/D Oscillator (ADOSC) applies MACD logic to the A/D line: EMA(3) minus EMA(10) of cumulative accumulation/distribution. It turns the slow-moving flow line into a momentum signal — is accumulation accelerating right now?
How It Works
- Fast EMA minus slow EMA of the A/D line, oscillating around zero.
- Above zero: money flow momentum is positive.
- Divergences against price lead the A/D line's own turns.
How to Trade It
Chaikin's rule: trade zero-crosses in the direction of the prevailing trend — flow momentum joining the trend is your timing gun. Divergence at range extremes (price new low, ADOSC higher low) is the earlier, more aggressive entry for reversal traders.
Building It in Setup.Cash
Add Chaikin A/D Oscillator (ADOSC) in the strategy builder — the length input controls its sensitivity — and use its value in any entry, exit, or filter condition. You can also combine it with other tools in the Indicators Lab or via the AI indicator generator. See CMF, Chaikin's bounded companion measure. For the full category overview, see the volume indicators library guide.
