RSX is Jurik Research's re-engineering of RSI: the same 0–100 relative-strength concept rebuilt with Jurik's noise-rejection filtering. The line carries RSI's meaning with almost none of its jitter — extremes and turns you can actually condition on.
How It Works
- RSI-style up/down strength ratio computed through Jurik smoothing.
- Same 0–100 scale and 70/30 conventions as RSI.
- Turns are smooth arcs; false wiggles near thresholds largely disappear.
How to Trade It
Use RSX exactly like RSI but trust its turns more: 'RSX turns down from above 70' is a far cleaner automated condition than the RSI equivalent, which flickers. RSX slope sign alone also works as a compact momentum regime flag.
Building It in Setup.Cash
Add Relative Strength Xtra (RSX) in the strategy builder — the length input controls its sensitivity — and use its value in any entry, exit, or filter condition. You can also combine it with other tools in the Indicators Lab or via the AI indicator generator. Jurik's JMA applies the same filtering to price itself. For the full category overview, see the advanced momentum library guide.
Momentum signals are timing tools — combine them with a trend or regime filter and backtest the exact rules before going live.
